Just some time ago, Disney's live-action version of the new "Snow White" released a new trailer. However, the response can only be described as horrific. The dislike rate of the new trailer hit a record high!
According to statistics, the first trailer of the new "Snow White" had 1.4 million dislikes, only 100,000 likes, and a dislike rate of 93.3%. This time, the new trailer has 881,000 dislikes and only 35,000 likes, with the dislike rate directly reaching 96.2%.
Almost all comments were dissatisfied with starring Rachel Zegler's performance as Snow White and the quality of the special effects of the Seven Dwarfs. They believe that Snow White should be a girl with skin as white as snow as described in the original work, but Rachel does not fit this at all.
But Rachel herself doesn't seem to care about this. She believes that everything the crew has done with the movie is reasonable. The reason why the opposition is so loud now is just because a small number of people with stereotypes are deliberately provoking. Rachel once commented on their new story in an interview in this way. She said:
"It's no longer 1937, we're going to make a new Snow White. She won't be saved by a prince. She won't dream of true love. She will become the destined leader of the people, her late father tell her that she will become a leader if she is fearless, fair, courageous and sincere.”
However, many netizens criticized Rachel. This bossy attitude is actually an attempt to tamper with the current universal values. The details are as follows:
"They were so radical in their thoughts, they changed the storyline, they were trying to change people's minds, they made up this whole new awakening food, and I'm not interested in that at all. Frankly, what they're doing is an insult to classic movies. They have no respect for the classics and no respect for current people’s values.”
But Rachel disagreed. She believed that they represented the correct trend of thought. She said: "There are always people who say that our version is a modernized version of "Snow White". They are right. This is a cartoon from around 1985. It’s too outdated and we’re going to tell a new story about a young girl whose worth is far greater than the old story of waiting for a prince to save her.”
However, Rachel's persistence did not alleviate the controversy of the new "Snow White" at all. Today, there are still a lot of voices opposing the new "Snow White" on the Internet.
The movie will be released on March 21st.
