Syrian Major General commits suicide and dies for his country

Syrian Maj. Gen. Ali Mahmoud, chief of staff for Maher al-Assad, brother to the deposed president and commander of Syria’s 4th Armored Division. He would rather commit suicide and die for his country than live happily. Major General Ali Mahmoud, Syria’s last iron-blooded deputy commander!

Faced with the situation in Syria where the situation was over and the troops collapsed, the deputy commander of the 4th Armored Division refused to surrender and went into exile in another country, and shot himself. What a tragedy this is!

In the raging war in Syria, the suicide of Major General Ali Mahmoud was shocking. Syria has been in war for many years. According to incomplete statistics, the death toll exceeds hundreds of thousands and the cities are devastated. The Major General's 4th Armored Division has fought in many key battles. However, in the face of strong external interference and internal chaos, the situation is irreversible. He could have fled, as some have done, as many wealthy Syrians have fled to neighboring countries. But he upheld his military honor.

During the war, countless soldiers and civilians were displaced, and approximately millions of Syrians lost their homes. Major General Ali Mahmoud was unwilling to live an ignoble existence, and his death was a sign of loyalty to this land.
