Recently, the well-known streamer Asmongold publicly questioned Musk's hiring some skilled players to level up his "Path of Exile 2" accounts. He said that he would stream all of his content on X for an entire year straight if the billionaire could prove he was actually the one leveling up those accounts from the start.
"However, his playing was riddled with inconsistencies and basic errors. "
"His gear is better than a lot of full time streamers. No way it is real. Account sharing or boost of some kind."
This move seems to have angered Musk - the billionaire posted yesterday mocking Asmongold as a "puppet" whose accounts are run by a team and require permission from his boss to do anything. In addition, Musk also leaked screenshots of private messages with Asmongold and removed the authentication mark of Asmongold's account (now restored).
Musk went on to argue that he had proven his gaming prowess in hundreds of live streams and accused Asmongold of being good at "snarky commentary" but not actual video games.
It is worth mentioning that during a live broadcast of "Path of Exile 2" held at Mar-a-Lago Club on January 15th, Musk half-jokingly said that he had indeed found a Chinese player to practice his account: "Yes, his name is Elon Ma, and I rely on him for everything.”
