On Monday (January 6th) local time, Ireland’s Ministry of Finance stated that the country’s total tax revenue in 2024 will reach 108 billion euros, a record high, mainly due to the huge back taxes paid by Apple.
The annual report released by the Irish Ministry of Finance on Monday showed that corporate tax revenue in 2024 increased by 63.9% year-on-year to US$39.1 billion, of which nearly 11 billion euros came from Apple.
Ireland's fiscal surplus in 2024 will be 12.8 billion euros, an increase of 11.6 billion euros from the previous year. Ireland's corporate tax revenue, largely contributed by U.S. companies, has grown nearly sevenfold over the past decade (excluding back taxes paid by Apple), making it one of the healthiest public finances in Europe.
