Time and Zuckerberg's surrender?

Since Trump won the election, the situation in the United States can be described as " Horse get a rapider moving, when my lucky time comes, even the spring wind is proud for me ". Even Time magazine, which has always disliked Trump, "succumbed".

On December 12, local time, Time magazine, owned by Marc Benioff, CEO of the software company Salesforce, announced that Donald Trump was elected as the 2024 "Person of the Year" and published an exclusive interview with him.

On December 7, 2016, Trump became the "Person of the Year" for the first time. Time magazine printed Trump on the cover of the magazine with the text "President of the Divided States of America." After learning of the selection results, Trump himself said that it was a "great honor" to be selected as the Person of the Year, but he also believed that the term " President of the Divided States of America " was mean.

Is this move by Time magazine a sign of surrender to Trump or a sign of understanding the situation and surrendering with both hands?

On the 12th, after ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange, Trump said, "This is really a very special thing. This is the second time Time magazine has given me this honor, and I think I like it even more this time."

Zuckerberg, I cann't believe he's going to be a man with his tail between his legs.

According to reports on December 12, Meta confirmed to media on Wednesday local time that the company had donated US$1 million to US President-elect Trump’s inaugural fund.

Some people say that this is Zuckerberg’s “ petition ” for Trump. It is certainly correct to say that it is a " petition ". However, it is not appropriate enough. To be precise, it should be a "letter of surrender."

After the riots on Capitol Hill in 2021, Trump's Facebook account was banned. Faced with the extremely vindictive Trump, Zuckerberg's previous behavior certainly stirred up a hornet's nest, making Trump very angry and harboring a grudge.

On July 10 this year, Trump posted on his self-created social media platform "Truth Social" that if he was re-elected as President of the United States, he would send "election fraudsters" to prison. In the article, Trump specifically mentioned Zuckerberg’s name. Previously, Trump had always regarded Zuckerberg as one of the cheaters.

Faced with Trump, who had a high chance of winning the presidential election, Zuckerberg also felt the risks were intensifying. He immediately changed his style and began to slowly move closer to Trump.

After Trump was assassinated on July 13, Mark Zuckerberg called Trump twice and said he would not support Democrats.

In November, when Trump won the election, Zuckerberg quickly congratulated Trump on social media and said he looked forward to working with the president-elect. Immediately afterwards, Zuckerberg went to Mar-a-Lago for a dinner, further making his closeness to Trump obvious.

Perhaps, in the face of Trump, who has strong presidential power and extremely vindictive, no matter how big the enterprise is and how much wealth there be, there is only a surrender.
